Quotes for typesetting are provided on a per-project basis, because every book is unique and special. To provide an accurate quote and time-frame for completion, we inspect the manuscript Word.doc file for the total word count and complexity level. This way, we know exactly what we’ll be working with and provide accurate information to you accordingly.
This depends on the total word count and complexity of the book. For example; a straight text fiction novel requires less complicated typesetting, compared to an educational business book that includes tables, images, lists, footnotes and more. So time-frames for your individual book will be provided at the time of quote and project confirmation.
We have a selection of print typesetting samples available to view from the hundreds of books we’ve brought to life. Check them out in our gallery here!
A great question. It’s really important to check over your print typeset PDF when you receive it from us for review, and you should also check over your print proof as well. We have a comprehensive proof checklist here.
If you don’t have a copyright section for your book yet, don’t worry, because we have a template we can insert and then add your copyright year, name, ISBNs and other information during the typesetting stage of your project.
If you have a half dozen or more images, please email us a Dropbox link to your images for us to download. Attaching multiple images to an email can cause issues or email delivery failure. Also make sure your images are all 300dpi (print) resolution.
The index creation itself is a separate special task which takes place after the print typesetting is complete with a final print PDF. This final print PDF is what is used to create an index. Once the index is complete, it’ll be added as the very last page of the typeset and a new print PDF is created that includes the index will accurate page locations and entries.
Indexes are quoted after the print typesetting is complete, because it’s dependant on the final page count and the amount of indexable pages inside the book.
